Gravity Wars is BACK! And we’re doing things a little differently this year…
What is Gravity Wars?
Gravity Wars is our annual difficulty (top-rope + lead) climbing competition that we organize in partnership with Sport Climbing BC for competitive youth climbers qualifying for provincials.
The main event is happening on Saturday September 26, 2026 but is closed to the general public to allow for the Youth athletes to compete.
This year, we wanted to give everyone a chance to try out the competition routes, and what the athletes were up against, with anyone who enters in with a chance of winning!
Can anyone enter?
Starting from 9am on Sunday 27, all 14 competition routes will remain up for the following 7 days (until 7pm on Sunday October 4), all you have to do is climb them!
Just pick-up a scorecard from the front desk and look for the corresponding route numbers on the wall. When you send a route (climb all the way from the bottom to the top without falling or taking a break), mark the route as completed and how many tries it took you. Routes can be sent on top-rope or lead climbing and will be counted equally!
You have until 7pm on Sunday October 4 to climb as many routes as you can before returning your scorecard to the front desk. Score
What are the prizes?
Think Arc’teryx, Ziptrek Ecotours, Petzl, we’ve got a BIG selection of prize swag this year, and anyone could win it…
There will be prizes for the highest scores, but the majority can be won through participation and given out on through a raffle. Your scorecard is your raffle ticket and all you need to do is enter!
What do I need to enter?
- A scorecard! These are available from the front desk for $5, with all proceeds being donated to Squamish Access Society
- A day pass or valid membership to climb in the gym
- Belay check from the gym
How do I enter?
Scorecards are available to buy from the front desk anytime between September 27 and October 4. They cost $5 + regular gym entry fees.
